This Lame Song (lyrics)

Why am I still holding on,
To a love thats long been gone?

The stones we skipped are yesterday.
But the ripples they won't fade away
They just keep reaching farther, cross the surface of my heart
But you said this, and I said that.
Its over now and thats a fact.
We have no future and I need a brand new start

But before I do I need to say...I love you

And if I can't sing it to your eyes
I guess I'll sing to stormy skies
For if my lips should kiss the rain
Then maybe the could cool my pain

Or perhaps the sun would shine
I'd tell it how you once were mine
It wouldn't get your head to turn
But maybe it would burn you from my mind

We never got a second chance
And I still want that final dance
For even one more kiss I keep holding on, but you're still gone.
Our time has slipped the hour glass
It feels it got there way too fast
And all that I can do now is
Keep singing this lame song

But before I do, I need to say...

I need to scream it If I can't sing it to your eyes
Shout it I guess I'll sing to story skies
Purr it For if my lips should kiss the rain
Pout it Then maybe it would cool my pain
Lend an ear so
You can hear it Or perhaps the sun would shine
Scream it I'd tell it how you once were mine
Shout it It wouldn't get your head to turn
Purr it But maybe it would burn you from my mind
Pout it
Oh how I need to say
I love you!

But why am I still holding on
To a love thats long been gone?

World of Crisis (lyrics)

Life's sure great in this my castle. Everything is really grand.
Gold cushions trimmed with gold tassles and mor what marble than you could stand.
But then I start to think, as I'm staring at a carving,
Just one piece of this statue could stop a hundred people from starving.

Its just a world of crisis, everybody needing help.
Out there its all so scary that we take it all for ourselves.
So many charities! Lets look at cherry trees.
Pretty blossoms falling down, we never think that they are dying,
they're dying. We're watching them fall and we're smiling.
Why don't we caer that they're dying?

Do you think they felt this way when they had the bubonic plague?
Or did people way back then accept that life is just a fucking drag?
I refuse to feel that way, I want to live with joy!
Oh crap while I just said that Africa lost 12 girls and 16 boys!

Its just a world of crisis, everybody needing help.
Out there its all so scary that we take it all for ourselves.
So many charities! Lets look at cherry trees.
Pretty blossoms falling down, we never think that they are dying,
they're dying. We're watching them fall and we're smiling.
Why don't we care that they're dying?

Eternity

(for Brian)

Man carves his name into a stone
And even though he's flesh and bone
With life so short, future unknown
From that deed his name is known
For eternity, more or less.

The Queen the rules in her own way
The laws are made from what she'll say
Her youth and beauty fade away
But her mark will always stay
In eternity, more or less

The movie star in beauty walks
They hold their breath to hear him talk
And when he dies there will be shock
For eternity, in the press.

The scientist with their big ideas
The artist who a paintbrush whields,
The soldiers in the bloodstained fields
They make thier mark on history
They rise into eternity

But Empires fall and film will fade
That old stone carving now unmade
And all of history stands to fade
From eternity, its a mess

Though everything around us now
Will pass into the dark somehow
And fade from memory I still vow
That I will love you for eternity.
Never less.

Lather, Rinse, Repeat

Lather, rinse, repeat
And hope your soul will come out clean.
Kneel, gesture, or bow
Have you been forgiven now?

The guilt you're told that you must take on
For every wrong step in life you take
Will not keep you on the wagon
Or stop the wrong choices that you make

All pleasures must be guilty. Or perhaps,
A worser fact that brings the truth:
Our guilt is pleasure, when we lapse
From what it is we're s'posed to do.

But fires burn and darkness frights
We run from action's consequence.
We bathe in an ocean of delights,
Then seek a quick-fix recompense.

Lather, rinse, and repeat
And hope your soul will come out clean.
Kneel, gesture, or bow,
Have you been forgiven now?

Welcome!

Hey, welcome to my blog. If you've somehow stumbled accross it, thats fine, hope you have fun. But its really mostly just for me, taking up a chunk of internet space to post my attempts at poems and lyrics. If you think I suck, do something else with your time. Seriously. Life is too short for flame wars.
